Blurb:

As a secret agent for the DEA, Snake’s gone deep into Devils Pride MC with the hope of bringing down the head of Miami’s lucrative drug trade and finds himself saddled with the club’s volatile and secretive SA instead. Unfortunately, after years as partners doing shit neither of them wanted to do for reasons neither of them felt comfortable sharing, Snake considers Trick his best friend. Now he’ll do anything to repair the damage his own necessary lies did to their friendship because, while Trick may have walked away from the MC, Snake needs someone he trusts to have his back.

Meanwhile, Snake’s contact at the DEA has him tied up in knots. The sexy voice and inappropriate comments have him walking around with a permanent set of blue balls. Life undercover is lonely and he lives for every phone call, but his own personal Deep Throat is skittish about committing to a date once Snake returns to headquarters. As far as Snake’s concerned, they only have one shot to build something together and he’s not willing to waste it.

Greg knows he’s not Snake’s type, or anyone’s for that matter. Former love interests called him plain, chubby, and boring. More comfortable in his tech cave than with people, he’s a grade A nerd who isn’t exactly GQ material. Normally he would never be brave enough to flirt with anyone—much less the very hot and very dangerous ginger who’d been starring in his nightly fantasies—but Snake needed something to keep him from getting lost undercover. What started out as a helping hand quickly became an integral part of their relationship—if one could call a five year phone conversation a relationship—and Greg is terrified that once Snake’s sees the wizard behind the curtain, he’ll lose the only man he’s ever loved.

Now the DEA has called Snake home to plan the next stage of the mission, leaving Greg no more places to hide. When fantasy and reality collide, will it be everything Snake hopes for or everything Greg fears? The trick will be staying alive long enough to figure out the answer.

“That sexy voice and those incredible brains are a potent combination.” There was a sigh and a muffled groan, reminding Greg why they were talking at close to three in the morning. “Lucky for you, my ego’s big enough to handle the challenge.”

“Your ego or your dick?” Just saying it made his mouth water and he’d give anything to see it, touch it, taste it…

“Damn, Sunshine, you gonna groan like that when I’m shoving my big ego down your throat?” The rough dirty talk was more like the Gene he knew and loved.

Yeah, as hopeless as it was, there was no other word for the feelings that ran deep and true inside him. And it was hopeless. While not conventionally handsome, Gene was everything he could ever want in a man—tall, strong, rugged, smart, and deadly—and damn him for being a ginger to boot. The type of man who had no trouble finding a willing body to fuck. The type of man who would never look twice at an out of shape, curly-haired, glasses-wearing geek. But that was his secret and as long as Gene didn’t know exactly what he looked like, he was able to hold on to the fantasy for a little while longer.

“You know I will.” He was groaning again just thinking about getting his lips anywhere near Gene’s body. “I can feel you fisting my hair, holding me still while you make me take every inch.”

“Fuck yeah, I’d grab two fistfuls and fuck that dirty mouth the way it deserves,” Gene promised. “You want that, don’t you, Sunshine? To be manhandled until your throat is raw and your lips are swollen.”

Greg fisted his own aching cock, dragging his palm from balls to tip. What he wouldn’t give for that just once. “More than anything.”

“My dirty little Valentine.” Gene’s voice was ragged and full of satisfaction. “Get your toy, dirty boy, I’m dying to pound that tight ass until you’re screaming my name.”

There was no embarrassment as he reached for the long, thick vibrating dildo he’d already prepared in anticipation of this phone call. He wanted Gene too much to allow embarrassment to stop him from experiencing whatever he could with the man. “Tell me…tell me how you want me. On my back? On my knees?”

“On your back so I can see your face,” Gene purred and Greg felt his heart skip another beat. His dirtiest fantasies had nothing on phone sex with Gene. The real thing would probably kill him.

Talk Dirty to Me (Devils Pride MC #2)Talk Dirty to Me by Jessie G.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m going to start my review by being a bit unfair to the main characters of this book…I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Ty, Snake and Ric together. They are the perfect trio to entertain the hell out of me. Snake is almost as funny as Ty when they’re together and they feed off each other perfectly. Throw in Ric’s dry wit and they almost steal the limelight in this story.

We already know Snake pretty well from book 1 in the series so we don’t learn too much this time around. He’s a major bada$$ and he’s a loner so being part of a team is different for him. It takes time for him to adapt to not running solo. He is pretty great with Greg and I loved the scene when they first met face to face.

Greg suffers from some pretty bad body image issues and lacks self-confidence. He’s a major nerd and has always been a behind the scenes so he’s a bit awkward around people. It’s hard for him to understand why Gene loves him as he is and takes a while to fully believe it. Even though he and Chase get off to a rocky start (and I melted a little bit during their first scene…Chase can still break my heart) Chase ends up being a pretty great support person for Greg. He helps him put some perspective on his body issues.

In the end, these two are a completely unique but amazing couple that I’m anxious to see more from.

As always, the Mistress of Teasing gives us some major foreshadowing for Carlos and Mateo’s story and that stands to be a pretty great story.

Overall another great read in this series and I cannot wait for the next one!

Author Interview:

Q&A

I went easy on Jessie this time around…that will give her a break before the next interview.

Q:  So I have to say how much I love Snake, Ty and Ric together.  While Ty and Snake are overtly entertaining, I think I like Ric’s dry wit the best.  How do you come up with their dialog…is it something you plan out, does it just flow out in the course of the story, do you have some real life inspiration that you are sharing with us??

A:  I definitely don’t plan out the dialog and I can’t imagine anyone doing that without it being hollow and stilted. For me, the dialog has to flow out spontaneously. I might clean it up in the edits, but on the first pass I usually write the dialog without tags, sometimes with my eyes closed, and just let the characters have a normal conversation just like you or I would (not really, Jessie…we’re not as funny as them). The rest is all them.

Q:  Speaking of Ric, we’ve seen a lot of him in this series and gotten to know him a little better. Are we going to see him again in this series or in another book about Davin and him?

A:  First, Ric was never supposed to be in Talk Dirty to Me.  None of the Sizzling Miami characters were supposed to continue into Devils Pride beyond Tricking Chase. When he appeared on the page, I had to stop and make sure I wanted to go down that road. Would readers who started with Devils Pride be interested in 1) knowing his story; and then 2) go to another series to get it? Then, if he became a strong secondary character here (which he did) that inspired say another novella (or more), what series would I put that in (Devils Pride or Sizzling Miami)?

With those questions in mind, I kept writing because I liked what was unfolding between Ric and the others, liked their interactions, and started to see new possibilities. So all the answers are yes, absolutely, you will see Ric again in both Sizzling Miami and Devils Pride books – and you will see all of them again together (Ric & Davin, Ty & Chase, Snake & Greg) in a whole other series that will bring me back to my “cop drama” beginnings.   <–WHAT?!?!?!?!? How did you sneak that in there Jessie G, without me seeing that!  Another series??? DAMNIT!

Q:  How far have you planned this series?  I know Carlos and Mateo are next (thanks to your teasing ways in this book), anything after that?

A:  Yes, of course, I actually see Devils Pride as my expandable series. Sizzling Miami is going to end after Jacky’s book and while some of those characters might pop up in Devils Pride or Forgotten Soldier, there isn’t anyone beyond my core 15 characters that I want to focus on in that Sizzling Miami world. Forgotten Soldier is laid out even more rigidly, with 4 full length novels and 2 novellas only.

But Devils Pride has more potential for new and interesting characters to appear in that dangerous world. After Carlos and Mateo’s story, I’m going to release Clay’s story. I was hesitant to put him and his boys in a series and considered making it a standalone, but as I toyed with ideas and revisited the rough draft that I’d written a couple of years ago, I realized Clay belongs in that darker world. After Clay’s book, we’ll have Bernardo’s book. He only had a small part in TDTM as the Devils Pride VP and we know he was abducted and rescued, what we don’t know is what he suffered before the rescue. Well, no, that’s not true. I know what happened and I plan to tell you all…next year.  (And now you know why I call her the Mistress of Teasing…)

Q:  I’m glad Chase and Greg became friends – they are good for each other, especially since Greg seems to only be friends with Gene.  Will we see them together again in any future books?

A:  I think I mostly answered this in the second question, but yes, we’ll see them together again – as friends and coworkers. Right about now, I can hear you asking “when?” You’ve seen my family tree, so you know there’s no room this year to start another series. So I’m going to let it marinate, play with ideas and plots, and release the first book in that new series in 2017.

Q:  Maybe you should just release a book every year with the whole gang getting together so we can catch up with everyone.

A:  I thought I already agreed to do that! You mean I still have time to opt out? ….UM, NO!

Meet the author:

jessiegbookslogo-mustard-400wLike many readers, the dream of being a writer has been with me a long time. After three decades of trying, I’d begun to doubt. Thanks to social media, I followed my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: to be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it’s a job. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will be at writing. I took that advice to heart and write every day. With three series in the works and a full schedule of releases planned for the next two years, it’s been amazing to have made this dream my reality.

I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics, and happily ever after. I’m a lover of strong secondary characters, and series filled with families—biological or chosen. All are themes you’ll find throughout my books.
