The Bayou Heat Series is a paranormal shifter romance series. Each book in the series is two stories, one by Alexandra Ivy, the other by Laura Wright. I love its quick hits of white hot erotica. This book advances the story of the Pantera, who are dealing with betrayal and loss, while finding romance and rebuilding the pack.
KAYDEN – Alexandra Ivy
Kayden wants revenge for his parent’s death. He find the man responsible and takes his revenge by taking the man’s daughter, Bianca. Bianca, he discovers, is his mate. And that, of course, is a game changer.
The romance advances quickly and Kayden did not disappoint as a strong shifter male. I didn’t completely connect with Bianca. As sheltered as she was by her father, she was a bit too laid back with all the changes and discoveries prompted by Kayden kidnapping her. I would have liked to see more fight in her, rather than acceptance. Outside of that, it was a quick hit, with a nice spicy build up.
SIMON – Laura Wright
Simon, a Pantera male living outside the Wildlands. He works as a model. Yup, a model. He has a secret I’m not telling you, but because of this he does not want to return to the Wildlands despite repeated requests from his Alpha.
Tryst, the Hunter charged with capturing him and returning him to his pack, is the best at what she does. Tryst is a bad-a$$ loner who prefers to remain in cat form. Simon was her equal, in all of his brooding ways. Their romance was honest and they challenged each other on a deeper level. The story escalated quickly but it still felt complete. I really enjoyed their banter and their hot moments. There was a unique twist with Tryst and her level of experience. No spoilers but the twist is not that she is a virgin.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Each book advances the overall story more and brings a level of heat our romantic little hearts love. Girls. Hurry up with that next book!

Alexandra Ivy is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. From Alexandra: “I’m not exactly sure when I fell in love with books. Probably on my mother’s knee listening to her read Dr. Seuss to me. I do remember that I was barely old enough to cross the street by myself when I discovered the delights of the local library.
Could anything be more wonderful than spending summer days surrounded by stacks of Nancy Drew mysteries? Over the years I fell in love with Victoria Holt, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and J.R.R. Tolkien just to name a few. I read poetry, essays, biographies, and plays. In fact, I read anything I could get my hands on.

Laura Wright is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. From Laura: “Unlike many of my peers in the writing world, I wasn’t a writer or a reader until I left high school. During my youth I was into theater, song and dance, commercials and boys. I loved romance surely, but I had never read a romance novel until my late teens. With that said, I remember the day I did like it was a moment ago – my aunt gave me the Jude Deveraux novel, Knight in Shining Armor and I couldn’t put it down until the very last word.
