When a wolf mates with a human, the child is nearly always a wolf. Briana was raised as a werewolf, but then puberty hit and she never changed. She’s persuaded a few wolves to bite her, but it never took. At nineteen, she’s going to give it a final try. This time, she’ll ask someone who was bitten instead of being born to it, to see if it makes a difference.
She grew up welcome in the Pack until she was branded a human. Her developing teenage psyche was wounded by their rejection, and she holds nothing but ill will for the Pack and all it stands for. However, it’s fine for a human to glare at the Alpha and tell him he isn’t the boss of her. Trying it as a wolf is another story. She’s determined to make a go of it as a lone wolf, but Randall — the local Alpha — has other ideas, despite the fact she’s property of his brother’s motorcycle club.
Briana was raised to be a werewolf and she finally feels whole, but the transition is different for everyone. She understands supernatural politics, but she’s going to have to maneuver through the highest levels of them as a brand new wolf still struggling for control.
Maggie had told me what she expected me to do before she’d changed into her wolf, so now I lay on the forest floor, buck-naked and spread eagle.
I’ve been bitten before so I knew the pain I was about to feel, and it took every ounce of my resolve to remain in place as the medium sized wolf sniffed me all over. My legs wanted to kick and then jump up and run, my hands wanted to protect my face from her, and my heart felt as if it were trying to escape my chest — but I held my breath and forced myself to stay frozen.
If this didn’t work I wasn’t sure I’d try again, but I had to give it one final attempt. I’d been raised knowing I was a wolf. I’d always felt her inside me, but then she never showed herself and I was labeled a human when I’d had my period for a year and hadn’t changed.
But my self-identity never changed. I’m a human who identifies as a wolf, but if this didn’t work — I’d have to find a way to accept my humanity.
I gasped when she bit my left thigh, held my breath while she mangled my right thigh, and couldn’t hold in my screams when her teeth tore into the skin and muscle of my left shoulder.
I’d told her where to bite me, but I hadn’t told her she could just go straight in and out without ripping. The wolf’s natural instincts are to tear as they bite, and fuck it hurt. If this didn’t turn me I was going to be scarred something awful.
She must have realized how bad she’d hurt me, because she was a little more gentle with my right shoulder, but it still hurt like hell.
Finally, Maggie’s wolf backed up a half-dozen steps and went to the ground, her eyes on me so intense it was unnerving, but I already smelled of pain and blood and I wasn’t sure how much control she had, so I tried my hardest not to be afraid.
Everything’s hazy past that point. I remember hurting, remember thrashing in the dirt, but it was days later before I have any memory of being fully in my human brain again.
Most people think Dozer’s all muscle and no brain, but as I’ve spent time with him, I’ve realized he just doesn’t have much to say. Granted, he isn’t a genius like Brain, and he’ll never be a leader, but he’s far from stupid.
I wasn’t surprised when he closed the door to the room and pulled a short pencil and small notepad from his back pocket, and wrote, “What aren’t you telling us?”
I took the pencil and wrote,
Maggie’s so submissive I have to order her to help me control my wolf.
When he’d read it, I told him, “It’s fucked up.”
“Maybe,” he said as he tossed the pencil and notepad onto a small table, “but it might also be why you’ve gained control right out of the gate. Take your dress off and blow me.”
Taking my dress off was no problem, but my wolf refused to kneel.
“Fuck. She’s fighting me.”
“Of course she is. She’s been in control without anyone over her. You know what I have to do, right?”
I nodded as he removed his belt, grabbed me around the waist, and tossed me onto the bed within a matter of seconds. He held my arms to the small of my back as his belt struck me from the bottom of my thighs to the top of my ass, and I screamed and begged him to stop but he didn’t relent.
I’m not sure when or how he dropped his jeans, so when he stopped whipping me and jammed his dick in my pussy, I screamed again but still couldn’t get away or do anything to stop him. He went in and held, and practically growled, “Tell me you submit.”
My wolf didn’t want to, but I managed to say, “I submit, Dozer,” above her attempts at refusal.
“You know as well as I do, you both have to submit.”
“Well she’s refusing, so maybe you can take it out of her ass instead of mine?”
He chuckled. “Yeah, we can do that.”
The next thing I knew he’d thrown me over his shoulder and was carrying me outside. He tossed me on the ground and pulled his shirt off as he went to all fours and changed.
For the first time ever, my wolf decided she didn’t want to come out right now, but I dropped to the ground and forced the bitch out. My ass and thighs were on fire and it was her damned fault.
I was still a little hazy on remembering everything that happened when I was the wolf. I remembered the big stuff, but not the details. I know she bowed up and challenged him, and promptly found herself on her back with his teeth around her neck. I also remember him fucking us. Or her. Sometimes pronouns are really confusing when referring to myself now that I’m both wolf and human.
Men like to think they’re all different, but most of the MC is pretty predictable when it comes to blow jobs — a few minutes of tongue and lips combined with varying degrees of suction, and then they lose control and pound my throat. Dozer only went into my throat maybe a half-dozen times before he lifted me and sat me on his cock, and we both groaned as he filled and stretched me.
He’s so tall, I had to tilt my head back and look up for him to kiss me, but I gladly did so because Dozer kisses even better than Dawg, though I wouldn’t have believed it until I experienced it. For someone so big and scary, Dozer can be a sweetheart in bed. After the whipping he’d given me it may not seem like it, but that’d been about our wolves. We had our animals set straight now, so it was just the two of us and I got lost in his kiss.
Just as I was close to coming, he pulled me off his cock, put me back on my knees, and had me blow him until I’d pulled back from my orgasm. Next, he had me on all fours as he fucked me from behind, his mouth at the back and sides of my neck as he moved inside me slow enough I couldn’t come close to an orgasm again, but fast enough I desperately wanted to get there.
Finally, he put me on my back and ordered me to keep my eyes open as he gave me what I needed — a big fat cock pounding me to a helluva release. “Look at me when you come, Britches. Don’t lose eye contact. It won’t be terrible if you shift, but if you can stay human I’ll personally walk you through the rabbit test.”
I don’t just like sex — I love it. I hang out in the clubhouse when I’m in the mood, and I stay away when I’m not. I never know who’ll want me — or how they’ll want me — but even Gonzo at his gruffest is incredible in the sack. I love it when the bikers take over and I have no control, and it’s quite possible I’m addicted to whatever drugs are released in the body during orgasm.
However, until I’d basically become the property of the MC, I don’t believe I’d quite understood how much of an out-of-body experience some orgasms are. I still feel my body and the wonderful things happening, but with so much sensory input my mind can’t take everything in, and it’s like I’m outside my body watching what’s happening to it. It doesn’t happen every time, but by taking me to the edge repeatedly, Dozer had made sure this orgasm rocked my socks off, and as I came back to reality I realized I wasn’t completely human anymore.
Somehow, I managed to reverse the small changes I’d already gone through and come back to human, and Dozer smiled, flopped on the ground, and pulled me on top of him. He was much softer than the bare earth, and I snuggled into his embrace.
“Excellent, Britches.” He looked around, sniffed in all directions, and nodded his head towards my left. “We need to head that way, but I have no idea how far out we are.” He looked at me a few seconds. “Two changes with no food was asking a helluva lot of a new wolf. I hope you aren’t a tenderfoot.”
I grimaced and he laughed. “You can ride my back, then.”
The blurb did not prepare me for this book. I expected something different but I liked what I got. The main character, Briana, is definitely a new wolf struggling with control but the story is also a romance. A BDSM romance.
Briana’s just 19. She still suffers from the scars of rejection, when Pack Alpha Randall turned her human self away when she did not change into a wolf. She feels like a wolf inside and craves this change. Craves it. Obsessively. She goes to great lengths to find it and she does. After being bitten, and finally changing, she wants to remain a lone wolf but soon has two Alphas desiring an oath from her. Complicated.
Her love interest is one of these Alphas and he is a bit of a sadist. We get to navigate the layers of their relationship with them. It’s incredibly interesting and, at times, erotic. Briana needs to learn control and she found a mate who demands control. This impacts her relationship with the Rolling Thunder MC – the club and the bikers became her family when the pack she grew up with rejected her. Her entire life transforms when she meets her mate – spiritually, sexually, emotionally and physically. *No spoilers here. You need to experience it for yourself.
I loved seeing the characters from the other books in the Chattanooga Supernaturals series and from the Rolling Thunder MC series, but there are touches in the book from characters in the author’s other series as well. I am impressed with the fact that despite the complexity of the story at times, it’s seemless. I read a few paragraphs twice thinking, how the eff did the author come up with that and how does she keep it all straight?
You don’t have to read the other books in this series to enjoy this story but it would certainly add another level of emotion and connection to the story if you do. The writing, not in any way ordinary. The story, at times complex, other times simple, but never boring. I read every. single. word.
