When her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.
Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away…that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.
Gianluca.
After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.
But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued.
After all, Gianluca isn’t just gorgeous—tall and tan from days spent in the sun—his touch sets her world on fire. With him, Georgie experiences the most intoxicating passion she’s ever known, and it only takes a few steamy nights for her to realize that sometimes running away from trouble is the best way to find it.

5 of 5 Stars

I try to read most books objectively. I really do. I try not to let previous work/books, affect me too much when reading. However, there is something about this author that just calls to me. I love her writing. Her style seems so effortless. I have read all but maybe one book by R.S. Grey. I have enjoyed quite a few. Loved many of her characters. It’s hard for me to not hold every single book to Scoring Wilder, which I LOVED!!!! SO, it is not small thing for me to say that this is by far her best book. It doesn’t have the abundance of overtly funny story lines that I have become to love about Grey’s writing, but it has so much more.

There’s difference between losing a loved one and losing a person you are in love with. TO be in love with someone is to live inside them. Allie’s breaths were my own and when she drew her last one, I was the one left gulping for air. I hadn’t breathed deeply in five years.

First of all, the story was great and I’ll get to that. However, I am words girl. The imagery painted in this book! STAAAAUUUUPPPPPP!!!! It was just outstanding. It was perfection and if while you were reading it, you weren’t thinking about which of your children you were willing to sell or which of your belongings just wasn’t that important to you(cough, school issued MacBook Pro), and pack it in to go to Vernazza, then I suggest you get you heart checked. The town was one of the biggest things I LOVED about this book. I know Rachel recently went to Italy and man, you can feel her love for the place though single page of this book. The imagery was done so perfect, I honestly felt like I was there. ……..I get this isn’t “typical” review stuff, but to me this was such a pivotal part of the storyline, that if you didn’t see that, you would just missed the story. That being said, the story was the perfect balance of funny, emotional, with a dash of hello there sexy time!

Alrighty…………Georgie! Dang! I LOVE this girl. She was odd, different, goofy and just adorable. you couldn’t NOT fall in love with her. Well, at least, I couldn’t! Her character was so well written, I couldn’t not picture her. I couldn’t not make that connection that you make with a character. And her smile-being on the receiving end of one of Georgie’s smiles was like feeling the summer sun as it breaks through the clouds.

It took me a second to realize, who she was! LOL. That was just perfectly woven into the storyline. Yes, you can read this as a standalone, it so many of these books have characters that make appearances in others, you miss some of the little nuances that are present in other books. Any who, she is the younger sister of Freddie Archibald from Settling the Score. So, I honestly feel that to get her, you have to have read that book. It gives a look into her past. Anyway, this story picks up several years later(btw, you get a glimpse at Freddie and Andie, and I always LOVE when authors do that. Alright moving on………Gianluca…..sigh. This guy was just perfection. Loved him. Loved his “damagedness”, loved his story. SO sad! UGH!! The rest of the Massimo and Katerina were also amazing. …….I do think a book is only as strong as it side characters. The two had purpose, were perfectly developed and enhanced the story! loved them.I loved it y’all. I got nothing.

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things… everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things “funny”. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
