About SHADE’S LADY:

New York Times bestselling author Joanna Wylde returns to the world of the Reapers Motorcycle Club…

Looking back, none of this would’ve happened if I hadn’t dropped my phone in the toilet. I mean, I could’ve walked away from him if I’d had it with me.

Or maybe not.

Maybe it was all over the first time he saw me, and he would’ve found another way. Probably—if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that Shade always gets what he wants, and apparently he wanted me.

Right from the first.

5 of 5 Stars

This was a cute book. Yes. Cute. It was funny and sexy and really good. It’s a seriously mild biker book. The outlawish club stuff, it’s there but in the background. The resist-romance is front and center and the main focus.

Shade and Mandy. This book is not hearts and flowers. Both have trouble fighting their attraction but it’s insta-lust not insta-love. He’s a tough bad ass and she’s is too, just her TBA is in a hard-working, law-abiding kind of way. They both have a lot of responsibility on their plates. She has a bad track record with men and doesn’t want a relationship and he’s an MC Prez, living free and doesn’t want to be tied down. Still, they find reasons to extend their one night to multiple nights. Why? Lust.

I’m such a fan of this author. She makes even the mundane magical. Dialogue is so important, for me, it establishes my connection the story, to the characters. It was perfect. Why? It felt like real life conversations, flowing with context and emotion. And what happens around the conversations, and where they happen, make it all even more real.

This whole book is about two people fighting being in a relationship while being in a relationship. This is a short novel, the pain and angst is not epic misery, it’s minimal but it’s impactful. Shade and Mandy are there for each other, they make the effort, with only minor judgments and resistance from Mandy mostly because she’s sworn off men. Call me crazy but I call that love.

One complaint, I wish it were longer. Or maybe just a freaking epilogue. Loved it!

Joanna Wylde - author imageAbout Joanna Wylde:

Joanna Wylde started her writing career in journalism, working in two daily newspapers as both a reporter and editor. Her career has included many different jobs, from managing a homeless shelter to running her own freelance writing business, where she took on projects ranging from fundraising to ghostwriting for academics. During 2012 she got her first Kindle reader as a gift and discovered the indie writing revolution taking place online. Not long afterward she started cutting back her client list to work on Reaper’s Property, her breakout book. It was published in January 2013, marking the beginning of a new career writing fiction.

Joanna lives in the mountains of northern Idaho with her family.
