As Sergeant At Arms for Devils Pride MC, Tyler “Trick” Malone’s take no prisoners reputation make him one of the most feared and respected members of the club. Unbeknownst to the MC, Trick indulges his most dangerous secret, traveling out of state twice a year to trade his cut for the whip he expertly wields at a gay dungeon.

Trick’s well organized life takes a turn when he saves bar back, and terrified submissive, Chase Ward in a Georgia dungeon. With his protector and dungeon owner dead, Chase is no longer safe in the place he once called home. With the new dungeon owners circling like sharks, he desperately begs for sanctuary in the arms of his savior.

A year later the MC is still none the wiser that Trick’s houseboy is anything more than a grateful servant. Chase knows if the club finds out they will kill Trick, the man he’s come to rely on for everything from the food he eats to the pleasure he feels to the security he craves. Even when gratitude turns to love, Chase never expects reciprocation from his ruthless Master. After all, the only way for them both to survive is if Trick remains the heartless bastard the MC knows.

Trick is positive he has it under control and having Chase around has definitely made his life easier. There doesn’t seem to be any harm in letting Chase take a part-time job at Velvet Ropes, especially after meeting privately with the owners. That is until a bomb explodes at the club, leaving Chase fighting for his life and forcing Trick to face his long hidden feelings.

Even if Chase survives, that bomb has done more than rock the foundation of the popular leather club. It’s blown Trick and Chase’s well-guarded secret out of hiding, putting their lifestyle and their lives at risk. Now there is only one thing Trick needs to do before the club gets them and that’s to get revenge on the person who dared to hurt his precious boy.

Let me get my disclaimers out of the way first. I am not a fan of BDSM books – primarily because I just don’t understand that lifestyle, especially the need for pain. I’ll read them and have read them, but it is rare for me to love them. I also am not a fan of MC books – as I’ve found I don’t like the violence and lack of morals in the few MC books I have struggled through.

I loved this book.

The MC club has taken a path down which I do not like or support. I was truly dreading what was going to happen with it knowing that I didn’t like any of the MC books I’ve previously read. What Jessie G did with these guys and this club just makes you love them even more – especially Trick. Through the way Trick handles things in the club you truly see what a great man he is.

Trick and Chase have a D/s relationship. Chase needs the pain. Yes, there is one scene in this book that demonstrates that. No, this book does not focus on that. Its focus is on the emotional aspect of their relationship and let me tell you, it’s powerful. The opening scene was…wow – I had to stop for a minute before continuing with the story after reading the prologue. While I really don’t like the Master title and the ‘servant’ mentality, what it means to these men in their relationship was beautiful to read.

My favorite thing about Chase is his absolute, bone-deep undying love and loyalty to Trick. You can’t not love Chase in every way. His vulnerability is as endearing as his strength is inspiring. And Trick…Trick is entertaining for sure – he made me giggle A LOT in this book. But he’s also very serious, mostly about Chase. I don’t want to give any spoilers but when he finally verbalizes how he feels, it almost brought me to my knees, never mind Chase. These men together are simply amazing and their love story is powerful.

I’m going to share one of my favorite scenes….

He’d carried wounded friends out of combat zones, seen bodies blown apart, and yet it would be the vision of Chase bloodied on the ground that would stay with him forever. He was a fucking soldier, a biker, a killer…frozen in place by the sight of his wounded lover. He just needed to suck it up because Chase needed him to be strong now more than ever. Right the fuck now would be perfect.
“I’m sor…” Chase began mournfully, his head bowing for the first time in a year.
“I love you,” Ty blurted out.
Chase’s head snapped up. “What?”
Finally his feet caught up with his brain and he crossed the room, not stopping until he was sitting on the side of the bed. “I love you.”
“You…” Chase shook his head. “Am I still asleep?”
“You’re very much awake,” Ty assured and Chase lurched forward only to fall back with a hiss. “Easy now, no sudden movements.”
Tears welled up in those eyes he loved so much as Chase reached for him. “Please, I need to feel you.”
“I’m right here.” Ty carefully stretched out on the bed on Chase’s uninjured side and gathered him close. Chase buried his face against Ty’s neck and sobbed. Ty felt helpless, holding his boy as gently as possible. Why had he been so stubborn, withholding the words from the one person who had stood strong by his side? Refusing to allow Chase to express his feelings had hurt them both. “I was an ass.”
“No,” Chase argued.

“Yes, I was.” Ty kissed his head, his temple, anywhere he could reach. “Listen to me. I’ve loved you for a long time. I wish I could pinpoint the moment, tell you with pretty words, but I suck at that shit. I’m sorry I waited so long to tell you that you’re the most important person in my world. I’m sorry I wasn’t there when you needed me the most.”

The secondary characters were pretty great. We get more of Tory, Evan and Clay and I seriously can’t wait for their story. I fell a little bit in love with Tory. We get more of Snake…which at first was confusing because I did NOT like him at the beginning of this book but I knew he was a good guy in The Protector. He has potential but the jury is still out until we get his book. His ‘not’ love interest is pretty great (as is Trick’s nickname for him).

Most of our favorite characters make an appearance in this book – some more than others. I really liked getting Trick’s thoughts on Saul and Javi’s relationship. Ric was a big player in this story and if you didn’t love him before, you will now.

Note: this is not a standalone book. You really need to read the 3 Sizzling Miami books to fully get this story and all of the characters in it.

The writing was great again. I can’t wait to read more from Jessie in both this series and the Sizzling Miami series. I’m going to leave you with this quote from Trick because it made me giggle…out loud…a lot.
“So Fancy Pants, Little Juan and the Sexy Hulk would be fine.”

As a secret agent for the DEA, Snake’s gone deep into Devils Pride MC with the hope of bringing down the head of Miami’s lucrative drug trade and finds himself saddled with the club’s volatile and secretive SA instead. Unfortunately, after years as partners doing shit neither of them wanted to do for reasons neither of them felt comfortable sharing, Snake considers Trick his best friend. Now he’ll do anything to repair the damage his own necessary lies.
did to their friendship because, while Trick may have walked away from the MC, Snake needs someone he trusts to have his back.

Meanwhile, Snake’s contact at the DEA has him tied up in knots. The sexy voice and inappropriate comments have him walking around with a permanent set of blue balls. Life undercover is lonely and he lives for every phone call, but his own personal Deep Throat is skittish about committing to a date once Snake returns to headquarters. As far as Snake’s concerned, they only have one shot to build something together and he’s not willing to waste it.
Greg knows he’s not Snake’s type, or anyone’s for that matter. Former love interests called him plain, chubby, and boring. More comfortable in his tech cave than with people, he’s a grade A nerd who isn’t exactly GQ material. Normally he would never be brave enough to flirt with anyone—much less the very hot and very dangerous ginger who’d been starring in his nightly fantasies—but Snake needed something to keep him from getting lost undercover. What started out as a helping hand quickly became an integral part of their relationship—if one could call a five year phone conversation a relationship—and Greg is terrified that once Snake’s sees the wizard behind the curtain, he’ll lose the only man he’s ever loved.

Now the DEA has called Snake home to plan the next stage of the mission, leaving Greg no more places to hide. When fantasy and reality collide, will it be everything Snake hopes for or everything Greg fears? The trick will be staying alive long enough to figure out the answer.

I’m going to start my review by being a bit unfair to the main characters of this book…I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Ty, Snake and Ric together. They are the perfect trio to entertain the hell out of me. Snake is almost as funny as Ty when they’re together and they feed off each other perfectly. Throw in Ric’s dry wit and they almost steal the limelight in this story.

We already know Snake pretty well from book 1 in the series so we don’t learn too much this time around. He’s a major bada$$ and he’s a loner so being part of a team is different for him. It takes time for him to adapt to not running solo. He is pretty great with Greg and I loved the scene when they first met face to face.

Greg suffers from some pretty bad body image issues and lacks self-confidence. He’s a major nerd and has always been a behind the scenes so he’s a bit awkward around people. It’s hard for him to understand why Gene loves him as he is and takes a while to fully believe it. Even though he and Chase get off to a rocky start (and I melted a little bit during their first scene…Chase can still break my heart) Chase ends up being a pretty great support person for Greg. He helps him put some perspective on his body issues.

In the end, these two are a completely unique but amazing couple that I’m anxious to see more from.

As always, the Mistress of Teasing gives us some major foreshadowing for Carlos and Mateo’s story and that stands to be a pretty great story.

Overall another great read in this series and I cannot wait for the next one!

Unprepared, ill-equipped, and with no example to look back on, Ty and Chase embarked on a journey to build a family for Ava and Luc that would far exceed anything they dreamed of for themselves. Two years later, they’ve succeeded beyond their wildest expectations, but there’s still a couple of things missing…and they’re ready to make them happen.

Bad boy biker Trick wouldn’t hesitate to fight for those he loves, but Ty knows it will take more than violence to win this war. Willfully submissive Chase has the utmost faith in his Master, but when he sees Ty struggling with demons from his past, it will be his quiet, unbending support that will see them through. Jumping through the loopholes of family court, they are only one event shy of making it all official and neither are willing to wait another second to check it off the list.
Clearing the path for adoption should reassure them, but it will take their cast of well-meaning friends and the occasional slap upside the head before they realize that the ties that bind them together are forged in a love that can never be taken away.

Le sigh…don’t tell Ty but I love his mushy side that he thinks he doesn’t show but totally does. I love seeing that he’s human and can be vulnerable. I love that he sometimes needs Chase to be strong. I love that the reconnect on every level in this book.

The ceremony was absolutely perfect.

Luc is going to be JUST.LIKE.TY. and I cannot wait to see him grow up!

We get to see my trio (Clay, Tory & Evan) again a lot and get some pretty big hints about their future. Have I mentioned how much I love them? I need their book right now!

The supporting cast we see is fantastic as always. Definitely a must read!

Like many readers, the dream of being a writer has been with me a long time. After three decades of trying, I’d begun to doubt. Thanks to social media, I followed my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: to be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it’s a job. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will be at writing. I took that advice to heart and write every day. With three series in the works and a full schedule of releases planned for the next two years, it’s been amazing to have made this dream my reality.

I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics, and happily ever after. I’m a lover of strong secondary characters, and series filled with families—biological or chosen. All are themes you’ll find throughout my books.
