New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Ruth Cardello returns with an irresistible
series about sexy billionaires and the strong-willed women who tame them.

Brett Westerly is his father’s golden child, but it’s come at a cost. As head of the family corporation, he throws himself into his work—hiding in his office is easier than confronting the reality of his broken family.
After a bitter divorce that split the family and divided loyalties, the wealthy Westerly matriarch offers an early inheritance to any grandchild who marries and invites the entire family to the wedding. Brett’s brother Spencer rashly gets engaged, and Brett knows it’s his duty to intervene. But he never imagined the unwelcome desire Spencer’s fiery fiancée would spark in him. Now the man who’s used to getting everything he could want has met the one woman he can’t have.
Ever since she was a girl, Alisha Coventry considered Spencer and his sister Rachelle the family she didn’t have. When Spencer asks for her help, Alisha has no problem becoming his fake fiancée—until she meets Spencer’s sexy older brother Brett.  The chemistry between them is undeniable—forbidden—but as their relationship deepens, Brett is determined to have her.
Alisha only wanted to help the family make amends. Now she’s falling for the wrong Westerly.

Christina‘s review

4 of 5 Stars

This is a good start to a series. It’s a pretty fast read but takes a lot of setting up for the series. I’ve only read a handful of books by Ms. Cardello but it seems like there is a lot of character crossover in her books. I recognize the name Andrade from the series I read but I don’t know the other characters. I’m guessing they’re in another series though. There is a lot going on and we meet a lot of folks. So far most of the characters aren’t awesome, but maybe as we get to know them we’ll like them.

I like Brett a lot. He seems to have gotten the short end of the stick with his family even though he appears to be the golden child. He’s somewhat bitter about his past but as it unravels in front of him he realizes everything isn’t as it has always seemed. He is a great brother and son and is extremely romantic when it comes to wooing Alisha. He did a pretty quick 180 on his views of the future – realistically it only took a couple of weeks to make that change – but I like where he’s heading. Alisha is a pretty strong character with a crappy upbringing. She is the light that Brett needs in his life and balances him pretty well. He definitely needs someone that isn’t intimidated by him and she is perfect in that role. Their romance was pretty fast and furious but hopefully it will stand the test of time.

Spencer’s book is next and I’m hoping our opinion of him will be changed in it. His world was upended a bit but he still hasn’t shown me he’s not the jerk he appears to be.

What Kindle Reviewers write about her:

“Wow hot at every page. Heart stoping, fear raging, mind blowing wonderful.”

“I’m a true fan of Ms. Cardello. I ran on to her first book a few years back and have been hooked ever since. I could go on and on about the story line of this book, but I’m not. All of her books are total page turners, unique, heart wrenching, and I love them all. There isn’t two alike in the bunch and I feel like I know the characters personally. I personally read 97 authors books. And I buy every book they put out. This author is in my top 10. Great job and keep them coming.”

“Love this series. Got me to start reading again. I look forward to the next book.  Thank you for giving me the love of reading back.”

Ruth Cardello was born the youngest of 11 children in a small city in northern Rhode Island. She spent her young adult years moving as far away as she could from her large extended family. She lived in Boston, Paris, Orlando, New York–then came full circle and moved back to New England. She now happily lives one town over from the one she was born in. For her, family trumped the warmer weather
and international scene.

She was an educator for 20 years, the last 11 as a kindergarten teacher. When her school district began cutting jobs, Ruth turned a serious eye toward her second love – writing and has never been happier. When she’s not writing, you can find her chasing her children around her small farm or connecting with her readers online.
