Dire straights.

Rock bottom.

Out of options.

It’s where we were. My pack and I.

A simple bargain.

A childhood crush.

Could it work? In a world of fated mates how would we possibly fake it for everyone?

Luca made it all sound so easy. My heart, body, and wolf were on board. I just needed to convince my head.

I couldn’t deny the alpha he was or the chemistry between us. Only time could tell if it would be for eternity.

A not so simple bargain changed it all.

4 of 5 Stars

Luca and Cal, the two main characters, are meant for each other. She’s an alpha female with another pack and he is her best friend’s brother. And Alpha. She finds herself able to help her pack financially by taking him up on his offer of help. His stipulation, pretend to be mates for 6 months. Because the story is short, things heat up pretty quickly. She gives in to her feelings for him and he can’t stop touching her. This leads to some steamy moments.

I liked the romance and the fact they stepped up and supported each other. I did not like what a “dog” Luca was before he stepped in to make her his mate.

This book is about 100 pages. While it’s a quickie, it still delivers a full story. Light angst, lots of passion.
