“You’re not giving me a sponge bath,” Taber snapped and glowered at Deacon as he wheeled himself into the locker bay. The sweat ran down his temples, his shirt soaked through with it. He took in his motionless legs and grimaced before shooting Deacon another irritated look.

Deacon sat with his feet on one of the peeling dark blue benches, his back reclined against a bank of gray lockers along the far wall in the physical therapy building. A book was balanced on his knees, and black-rimmed glasses perched on his nose. His shaggy auburn hair fell to curl around his ears in disarray.

Deacon peered at him with pale green eyes. “There go my dreams of rubbing you down and tweeting the pics.”

Christina’s Review:

Driven by Fire (Firehouse Six, #4)Driven by Fire by Draven St. James

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

this is the first book in the series that i’ve read but i think now i’ll have to go back and read the others. this was a great read. the writing was good and the cast of characters are fantastic! (seriously, hot firemen, EMT’s and cops!! what’s better than that!)

taber has suffered an accident in a fire losing partial feeling in his legs. as expected, he’s going through a bit of ptsd not only because of losing his legs but because of losing his job which he is extremely passionate about. he has been a rescuer, a strong man saving other people and now he is having to rely on other folks to help him in ways he isn’t comfortable with and he is not handling it well at all. he’s in the closet and really hasn’t paid much attention to the men around him. he’s a bit arrogant and a lot impatient which is making his recovery harder.

deacon is a fun-loving, nerdy, class-clown type. he attempts to make every situation better by providing comic relief. he is sweet and caring and ready to lend a helping hand to his fallen friend. he is the perfect match for the arrogant taber, not allowing him to wallow in self-pity or get away with being an a$$.

their chemistry is instant when they are in front of each other and finally see each other.

definitely a series i recommend!!
