THE GIRL I WAS BEFORE (Falling #3)
 NA Contemporary Romance
Scheduled to release: June 23, 2015
BLURB:

I’m the selfish one. I suppose that’s the nicest thing people say about me. I’ve heard the other things, too. “Paige Owens is a pretty girl with nothing else to offer. She’s just a good time at a party. She’s stupid, heartless, cold and useless. All she cares about is getting a guy to look at her. Why would anyone want to be her friend?”

Some of those things are true. Others were true. They’re all hurtful.

None of it matters.

I’m ready to make the hard choices. I’m ready to face the consequences. I’m ready to be the girl I was before, and I’m done being the one who lost her way.

I’m ready to become the girl Houston Orr sees when he looks at me.

Houston isn’t a star athlete. He doesn’t play in a band. He’s never going to be president, and his life is so far away from simple and easy it isn’t even funny. He wasn’t part of my plan. But I’m starting to think plans are overrated, and maybe our stories are what we make them. And mine depends entirely on me, and the choices I make…starting now.

Houston is my fairytale. He’s perfectly imperfect. He’s poetry and life. He’s truth and heartbreak, all rolled up in a tall body with dark hair, broad shoulders and green eyes that lull me into submission. He’s nothing I ever thought I wanted, but the very thing I need. He’s the only guy I’ve ever really loved, and he thinks I’m a princess. I fell into him, and now I’m holding on.

But sometimes life takes away our ability to choose. Sometimes…things aren’t in your control. Sometimes, it hurts to be selfless. My only hope is that when it comes time to choose, I get it right.

Welcome to my once upon a time and wish for happily ever after.

YM’s Review:

OH this book! I honestly went in thinking, I really didn’t want to read this.  Paige was well….not my favorite character(putting it mildly). She annoyed the heck out of me, and her personality left a lot to be desired. But, being the Ginger Scott fanatic that I am, I had to go in and see if there was a way for her to wow me.

She did. Plain and simple. This story is filled with sincerity, struggle, and sweetness. Paige’s struggle to change and not be the “Girl she was before” was raw and had a humble feeling that I just really connected with. I could feel the power struggle and desire within Paige to be someone better. Even in her attempt at “reconciliation” with her sister, I just felt it.
Houston, oh Houston, Houston, Houston. This guy could not have been more perfect for Paige. I didn’t see him coming, but when it started developing, I was like, DUH! Of course! It has to be someone extraordinary to realize who she was, and not squelch it, but allowed her to be who she needed to be.
All this might seem like rambling……however, I can tell you, this is the story of someone trying to make a change and take a different path. Someone afraid because the path she has to take, is not how she saw things going, so she has to take a leap of faith.
Paige and Houston’s love stories is sweet. Love how they find each other and neither is what the other expected but exactly what they needed.
LOVED the way the other characters from the previous books made their appearance. It wasnt forced, but they fit perfectly in this story. They had purposed. I am sad to see the story end. But, funny enough, I want to know what happened with Houston and Paige. Paige is 19, going into a very interesting dynamic by getting involved with Houston. What happens after summer? Can Paige handle Houston’s situation? Do they make it? Oh Ginger! Dont do this to me!! I can’t handle it.( in my best British voice!)
Ginger Scott is a ridiculously talented story teller. She broke my heart and slowly healed it. The way that she went around full circle, was just beautiful. I cant wait to see what else she sends my way.
