also lost his family too young, and he channeled the pain into his passions: first hockey, then vodka and women. But all that seems to just melt away the instant he kisses Auden and feels a jolt of desire as sudden and surprising as a hard check on the ice.
enough to prove he’s finally met the one who makes him want to change.

this was such a refreshing read for me. i’m a huge hockey fan and always love books about the sport. not only did this include a hockey freak like me as an MC, the story was completely unique to anything i’ve ever read.
both the main characters were broken and had heartbreaking histories. they both had a lot to learn about love and life. auden, despite her lack of self confidence, was a completely incredible young woman. while she was a bit immature at times, she grew up too fast because of her history. i absolutely love her!
aleksandr appeared to be a cocky, self-absorbed, brand new hockey hot shot but when we get to know him we realized he was nothing like that. he was a truly sweet, loveable guy. he also was a bit immature but had to grow up quickly because of his history. they were perfect for each other, not only because of their language but also because of their similar backgrounds. i absolutely love them together.
there were several great characters in this book which leaves me hopeful for a great series. this story will be hard to beat!
native, fell in love with reading, writing, and hockey all before she became a
teenager. She did not, however, fall in love with snow. So after graduating
with an English degree from Central Michigan University, she moved to North
Carolina, where she spends her time writing books featuring hockey-playing
heroes, chasing her two high-energy sons, watching her beloved Detroit Red
Wings, and rocking out at concerts with her husband.
