Release Day: December 8, 2015

Synopsis

We are told that God will punish the wicked. That sinful men will reap what they sow. We are told to scourge our souls with prayer and pain to become clean once again.

Well, here I am. Wicked and sinful. Desperate to become clean…even though it feels so good to be dirty.

But even I never expected what came next.

Even I never expected my punishment to come so soon.

Midnight Mass is a novella and a sequel to Priest. It’s intended for mature audiences only.

YM‘s review

Can we just take a second and get real here. This cover! This cover is freaking everything! DAYUM!

Sigh…..Alrighty, moving on.
I had no idea this book was coming out, because I live under a rock. But, was oh so very stinking happy when I got it.
The story fast forwards into Tyler and Poppy’s 3rd year of marriage. I loved the realness of their relationship. It was exactly where I would expect a 3 year marriage to be. However, the characters were so much more. I cant even. I feel like this story is so much more. Yes, there is still sex. Yes, it is still hot as hell. Yes, you will still look over your shoulder and wonder if someone should be writing these things about the church, etc, etc. Tyler’s struggles, as a man his questioning everything, just made me like him even more. I don’t know what it was, but man! I could just FEEL his torment! I could FEEL his guilt. I could just FEEL his doubt. It was truly amazing.
I am going to just segway to the writing. Honestly, it should really be referred to as prose. Man! There is some amazing dialogue in this book. (I would put that in all shouty caps if I could, but I don’t want to tick people off.) Actually, EFF it! THERE IS SOME AMAZING DIALOGUE IN THIS BOOK!!!! It read like a wonderful cup of rich warm cocoa that is adequately topped with whipped cream! It was delicious. So, enjoyable and it just read beautifully. All jokes aside, because I do not want to cheapen what I felt for this book. Sierra Simone does something really special here. I loved Priest because it made me uncomfortable, the sex was hot, and it was different than anything I had ever read. I think Midnight Mass should be enjoyed for the magnificence of its dialogue. I highly, highly recommend it.
