I read these books back to back. Had I not, Ms. Asher would be paying for my stay in the crazy house. Because after book 1, I HAD to know. How does it all end??? I’m not telling but prepare for an angsty, wild ride, fraught with divided loyalties (mine)….Team Ronan, Team Lawrence, or just plain Team Blaire.
Told with multiple POVs (I love this when it is done well and it’s done well!), you get inside each person’s psyche. I felt their hope, pain, love, regret, loss, grief and joy.
For me, I was most surprised by my reaction to Lawrence because I was a Ronan-only girl going into this book. His relationship with Blaire becomes more than surface, more than an arrangement.
I became so damn invested in each one of them that the ending for me was bittersweet. NO spoilers, but this book is so good it’s almost unholy.
5 freakin stars. Expect a gut punch with a side of book hangover. Thank god for epilogues.

This author pulled it off. I saw through the gold digging, I connected with Blaire. I still didn’t like her, but I wanted her story. I wanted to know why she thought selling her body, being beautiful, was where her power lies. And why, when presented with everything she was denied as a child, she denied herself.
Two men. Ronan. A beautiful boy, a beautiful soul, open and giving. Rich in all the ways Blaire ran from in life – love. Ronan is Blaire’s kryptonite. Add Lawrence, he’s handsome, wealthy and can give her what she thinks she wants. An emotionless and material arrangement based on money and hard sex. Blaire’s idea of safety.
Note! The scene where she pushed Ronan away the final time, heartbreaking and vicious. Lawrence’s mysterious dinner date, very interesting…
I’m hooked but the cliffy killed me. Great writing. I felt the pull of each character and greedy me wants more.
