Lucas Thatcher has always been my enemy.

It’s been a decade since I’ve seen him, but our years on opposite coasts were less of a lasting peace and more of a temporary cease-fire. Now that we’re both back in our small town, I know Lucas expects the same old war, but I’ve changed since high school—and from the looks of it, so has he.

The arrogant boy who was my teenage rival is now a chiseled doctor armed with intimidating good looks. He is Lucas Thatcher 2.0, the new and improved version I’ll be competing with in the workplace instead of the schoolyard.

I’m not worried; I’m a doctor now too, board-certified and sexy in a white coat. It almost feels like winning will be too easy—until Lucas unveils a tactic neither of us has ever used before: sexual warfare.

The day he pushes me up against the wall and presses his lips to mine, I can’t help but wonder if he’s filling me with passion or poison. Every fleeting touch is perfect torture. With every stolen kiss, my walls crumble a little more. After all this time, Lucas knows exactly how to strip me of my defenses, but I’m in no hurry to surrender.

Knowing thy enemy has never felt so good.

I don’t hate flowers; I hate daisies. They give me hives. They’re the flower everyone wants me to be. The world sees me with my pale blonde hair and my big, shinning blue eyes and they want to pat my head and plant me in their gardens. I’m not a daisy. I’M a doctor. I never want to be reduced to a daisy, and Lucas knows this better than anyone.

At 3% I already knew I loved this one by R.S. Grey. The story was highly entertaining and oh so super cute, it def gave me the sweet giggly fuzzies. However, it also had some moments brilliance where the dialogue/writing was way more than they seem. It was incredibly well written. I have learned that noteveryone can write romantic comedies, but I think Grey writes them flawlessly. I honestly think this was my most favorite book by Grey. It had every element I love! The angsty dialogue, the flirting, the sexual tension, The fact that we’re silent doesn’t shock me. E’re walking a tightrope. E’re holding our breaths. Our weaponized words will only upset the delicate peace we’ve built. I won’t tell if you won’t tell. , ……….the yummy sexy scenes.(Seriously, those were AHMAZING!)

Daisy and Lucas are childhood rivals. Their back and forth bickering, glimpses into their past and their ongoing rivalry were really the best part of the book. UGH!! Both leave their small town and 11 years later, they are back to their small town. The pick up right where they left off, but know there are complications. I want to say so much, but I don’t want to give it away! Let’s just say that the story went exactly where I wanted it and it was perfect. I highly recommend it.

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things… everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things “funny”. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
