“Now, when we do happen to encounter each other at places that are not mentioned on the list, we will not do the following: hug, kiss, jump, hump, rub, or grind on each other. There will be no penetration with the following: finger, tongue, or penis. And, last but not least, the following holes will not be prodded—”

“Okay, okay, that’s enough,” he said, holding his hands up.

She frowned, looking at the paper. “I’m not done with my list. I need to lay everything out in clear terms so that things like last night do not happen again.”

“Trust me, I can fill in the blanks.” He took a drink of his coffee, then set it down.

Bristol huffed, wiping her hands down the front of her skirt. Now that that was done and over with, she felt like a giant weight had been lifted off her shoulders. Her life could go back to normal, and— “Excuse me. What are you doing?”

He shrugged, coming around the desk. She backed up until her head was up against the pin board, the calendar’s glossy paper crinkling behind her.

“You know what?” Noah asked, staring down at her. She swallowed thickly, words caught in her throat with no chance of escaping. “Every single thing you put on that list? I’m going to make it my goal to do the exact opposite of it.”

Missy‘s review

4 of 5 Stars

The Bet. The blurb was out of the park, it hooked me! Nice cover but she has red hair, doesn’t look like the characters. I read the book in one day.

Noah, he was a typical, cocky guy…but kind of a douche. He redeems himself but it happens slowly over the course of the book. And Bristol, is all about schedules and rules. She is a CEO, all business, and her life is very “contained” – all work, no friends. She decides she needs sex, does not know how to pick up a guy outside of going to a bar and tries a dating app.

He makes a bet with his best friend Chase (a bigger douche) and approaches Bristol in a movie theatre. Bristol, an uptight, icy gal, is on a date with someone else. They connect and it has Noah questioning if he can go through with the bet…that she does not know about. What happens? Not telling.

The second half of the book was better than the first. The character development was a little slow but it definitely picked up steam as their pasts were revealed. The chemistry, romance, humor and suspense was an interesting cocktail, with the bet running constantly in the background.

4 stars. Noah was a refreshing change from my usual bikers and billionaires. I liked that he was a regular guy. And Bristol, I connected with her level of crazy, so insecure and controlling. Read it!
