This was a really good read. If you have also read her Dragon King series, this will make you happy. There is a crossover between the Reapers and the Dragon Kings. No spoilers, no details but it ties up some loose ends.
Cael has been in love with Death/Erith forever. I have been waiting for this book and his story. As Erith began to lose her powers in prior books in this series, she distanced herself from Cael only to have to turn to him for help.
Bran (big bad guy throughout the series) and Erith finally face off. Cael is tested in this battle alongside Erith. Good outcomes and some issues resolved but there is more to come. Weirdly, there’s a cliffhanger but not so much with this couple. What does this mean? More stories!
Erith’s character is intriguing. You learn more about her origins. She’s death but she’s also a woman. She leads and makes the Reapers but is at her most vulnerable in this book.
Some spicy scenes, but this book was really a showdown between Bran and Erith. Hard to put down, it was worth the wait – 7 stories into the Reapers series.
