Summary
Max Maldonado loves baseball. He knows playing first base at a private college probably won’t get him to the big leagues, but he doesn’t mind. He loves the game and his teammates. I just finished reading this series and since I’ve listened to the others it only made sense to listen to this one as well. Mr. Pauley’s performance is as good here as the other books.
This is a quick, sweet, low-angst read/listen. Honestly, if you’ve read the previous three books in the series nothing in this story will surprise you. Christian and Rory are still my favorite, but I did like Max and Phoenix together and this is a good addition to the series.
Max and Phoenix are opposites in pretty much every way, but they bring out the best in each other. They have great emotional and sexual chemistry which makes the development of the full-blown relationship inevitable.
There is some foreshadowing for Sky’s story which I’m assuming is next. Ms. Hayes has her work cut out for her with him…he’s been a piece of work throughout the series!

An avid reader from an early age, she has always been drawn to well-told love story with beautifully written characters. These days she prefers the leading roles to both be men.
