He leaned against me, taking a swig of his water and staring out at the moon, hanging over the ocean like a giant silver coin. “It’s really perfect for a honeymoon, isn’t it?” He smelled of the resort soap, jasmine and sea salt, and the natural tang of manly sweat. It wasn’t something I’d ever thought of as sexy before, but on him, sitting there on the beach, it really was.
I kissed the top of his head and rested my cheek against his hair. “It is. Your honeymoon’s gonna be the best when you have it for real. Maybe your husband’ll rent the penthouse and keep you here a month. Nothing but sun and sea and a giant heart-shaped bed.”
He chuckled at that, swallowing his bite of sandwich before answering. “There are no heart-shaped beds anywhere in this resort. This isn’t the eighties.”
“Heart-shaped hot tub?”
“Now those, we have,” he agreed, and turned to look up at me, pupils enormous in the dark. “I don’t need that, though. As long as he’s here, and not in my apartment, fucking Ian.”
“Sweetheart, I wouldn’t fuck Ian with someone else’s dick,” I promised, on the assumption that Ian was the best friend. I might have been offering to take him on a honeymoon, but I wasn’t sure anymore. The conversation had gone around in a circle, and all I knew was that I wanted to take the sadness out of his eyes.
Apparently it worked, since he giggled, shoulders shaking and eyes lit with mirth. “What about me?”
I grinned as I leaned forward and gave him a peck on the lips. “Not planning on needing anything but my own for you.”
When he gave me a dreamy smile, I leaned in again and took his mouth, wrapping one hand around the back of his neck and pressing in. He gave a tiny whimper and clung to me, fingers wrapped tight around my arms.
When I pulled back, he stayed there, eyes closed and lips parted, breath coming in short pants. “I’m going to need you to go ahead and prove that.”

This appears to be the first book this author has written which is awesome because except for Cord and Andrew’s first scene together (which had some very awkward dialog) this is a really good book. There are several great characters with possibilities for future stories, so this is a great start to a series.
I loved that there was so very little drama or angst, no lack of or miscommunication especially since Cord is a rock star with a dramatic ex. Both Andrew and Cord have exes with the potential drama over the top dramatics but there wasn’t any for which I was extremely grateful. Andrew and Cord’s relationship development was a little fast but never felt rushed. There is nothing earth-shattering about their story, it’s just a unique setting with a happy ending and nothing to turn you off the story.
I have to say I’m even pulling for the eccentric owner of the resort – Mr. Blissand – to find his happily ever after! I liked Cord’s bandmates quite a bit. I’m assuming Trace and Jase will get books and we quickly met a staff member who has potential (for Trace I’m assuming).
I am definitely on board for this entire series if it stays this good!
