New
York Times bestselling
author Claudia Connor follows up her heartfelt debut, Worth the Fall, with
a novel about Matt’s brother, Stephen—and when a McKinney brother falls in
love, powerful emotion and overwhelming desire are never far behind.
Two hearts locked away . . . Hannah Walker spends her days coaching
children through injury and trauma, one therapeutic horseback ride at a time.
She knows all too well how violence can change a child and leave scars that
never heal. It’s easy for her to relate to the kids; what isn’t easy is the
thought of facing her own harrowing past.
Millionaire playboy Stephen McKinney could use a little coaching himself. Five
years ago he encountered his most horrible nightmare—and the nightmare won. No
matter what he achieves, nothing can make up for that awful night . . . or so
he believes.
Both desperate for a second chance . . . Stephen is used to getting what
he wants. And he wants Hannah. So when she turns him down, he’s intrigued. What
he doesn’t know is that her secrets will lead him to a place he never wanted to
go again . . . to a side of himself he’s tried to forget . . . a side that
would scare Hannah away from ever loving him. Now his only chance to win her
trust is to bare his soul, risking everything he tried so hard to protect.

Worth the Risk by Claudia Connor

another great story in this series!
the writing again was awesome. i loved all the new characters and getting to see all the old characters.
while this story wasn’t as gut wrenching throughout as the first book to me, i think the characters in this one are more broken. what hannah went through was nothing short of horrific. stephen handled her beautifully. they were perfectly paired. i love what she did with the farm and her life.
i hope every character in this series gets a book. i can only imagine how great each story would be!

Worth the Fall by Claudia Connor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
wow…this is possibly one of the most emotional books i’ve ever read. i think i cried/teared up more in this book than most others.
i have to say that i’ve read some fairly mediocre books over the last few months and this book is going to make a whole lot of other books pale in comparison. this is probably the best book i’ve read this year.
both main characters were phenomenal. abby is such a strong woman and great with her kids. her life has been completely miserable and matt changes all that. she’s afraid to hope that he can help change her life for the better. after losing his best friend, matt is pretty closed off and really has one goal in life – stay a seal. when he meets abby and her wonderful brood at the beach he starts to wonder if maybe there is more to life after all.
we get to meet most of matt’s family – which is huge – and most of those characters are fantastic!
the writing is seriously some of the best i’ve read. ms. connor is absolutely going to be a must read, auto-buy author.
