This book was uhm…….honestly, I don’t know how I feel about it.
It was not terrible, but it was not memorable. Does that make sense?
Let me see…….I liked both characters and their “background story”. They both had depth and were honestly interesting characters. I liked Ian. He was was solid and I could understand the sexy widowed father of one. Chelsie was also likable and someone I could get in touch with. Single mom, suffering from low self-esteem because the husband traded her for a younger model. Both parents are trying to do the best for their child, put them first while trying to discover who they are without their spouses. I liked it. It worked.
What then was my issue? The fact, that I couldn’t tell if the author wanted a romance novel or a bdsm novel. I felt the book kinda lost it’s way. Had it not had that slight introduction into bdsm, I feel it would have been a lot stronger.
However, that being said, I am interested in seeing which direction the author continues to go…..oh yeah, the damn title was def deceiving!! I was expecting a novel about NYC and I got DFW area. For me, that worked, because the author mentions many places I am familiar with, so that was cool. I liked that the novel was written in my backyard, so to speak.
In other words, it was aiight.

honestly, most of my work comes from the kitchen, the heartbeat of any home.
Since noise doesn’t disturb me too much when writing, I can write and keep the
