This book was incredible in so many ways. It was dark and addictive. I became obsessed with finishing it.
Penn and Cora were amazing together. Both are survivors. The plot is not predictable. It’s emotional and gritty. I don’t think I’ve used so many adjectives to describe a book before. That’s how interesting and unique this story is. Seriously, when Penn’s life alters so dramatically in the first pages when he loses his wife, you know there are going to be plot twists and brutal moments. He’s suffering and when he meets Cora, who is broken as well, you fall for the idea of them together. You crave it. You want happy for both of them.
I’m trying not to give their secrets away in this review. I want you to discover them on your own. You’re welcome.
Note – this is not a sunshine and rainbows book. It’s not a light read. They lie to survive. Reality is brutal and they hold their truths close as they discover love.
It’s well-written, complicated, romantic and sexy. It’s ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. I want more.
